Elijah Caligiuri

From Columbia, South Carolina, Elijah Caligiuri is a minimalist at heart, with percussion being his main focus for composition. His style blends intricate ostinato rhythms with unique timbres to create soundscapes remiscent of late 20th century percussion works. His main inspirations include styles/composers such as progessive rock, Steve Reich, and world percussion.

He is currently studying at the University of South Carolina under the direction of Dr. Scott Herring and is studying Percussion Performance. He works with highschool marching bands, focusing on the front ensemble and making percussion scores for other highschool marching bands. He is also active in the underground music scene of Columbia, having been the drummer for various bands, and playing shows around South Carolina.
