Azure's Remoulade by JaRon Brown

Azure’s Remoulade is a wild and challenging duet for marimba and vibraphone, but I promise it is definitely worth the investment and dedication to learn the piece :). It is a tribute to my deep adoration for anime and animated series. I grew up on the peak of Toonami with shows like Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball Z and Pokemon, which happily made every day after school a well deserved dream. This piece was inspired by one of my most recent anime fixations, “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures,” which in itself is vividly saturated in lore and color with noteworthy distinctive imagery. In this anime, the main characters possess these spiritual auras that ultimately give the users powers to spar with which are called stands. I pictured Azure’s Remoulade as the name of my stand that I would use that would harness music and melodic material as a way to subdue my opponents, completely dismantling them aggressively.
