"Mini Variations on Cariñosa was commissioned by my friend Ray Ybanez for their Senior recital at VanderCook School of Music. In Spring 2024 Ray asked me to write a piece for them based on the Cariñosa folk dance from the Philippines. In this piece I sought to sonically represent visual elements from the dance's 8 Figures with varying styles of music." - Ethan Prado
