Opposing Forces was written in the spring of 2022 and is my musical depiction of the question “who wins between an unstoppable force and an immovable object?” In this piece, both players play the role of the unstoppable force and the immovable object at some point while occasionally playing together in a groove type setting. Written for two advanced four-mallet marimba players, this piece is a great way to either open or close a program.
