Growing up, I was always fascinated by clouds and its beauty and how those
things related to human experiences. Consciously, and unconsciously we relate to
clouds in many ways from how it affects our mood to imagining them as shapes
and sharing that with others.

Skytudes is made up of 5 short etudes for solo marimba, each one depicting a type
of cloud. The goal with these etudes is to have the technical demand and musical
demand be the forefront of focus to the performer while depicting these clouds in a
meaningful way for myself. This is also done by not having much information in the
score outside of some wording and the program notes. We all view and experience
clouds differently so this is my attempt of doing the same with the music.
