Percussion Octet

When an accomplishment is made, we find ourselves asking questions such as this. What do we do next? What else can be done? Where Do We Go From Here? Asks that question by taking the listener and performers alike on a sonic journey, searching for each new idea and expanding each section to find that next achievement.

Life itself is also described by the piece, signifying different stages of life, in its highest forms as well as its lowest.

Instrumentation:

  • Two Vibraphones (each with a concert tom)
  • 4.6 Marimba (shared between M1/M2)
  • 5.0 Marimba (shared M3/M4)
  • Four Pairs of Claves for all Marimba Players
  • Percussion 1: Mounted Kick Drum, High and Low Congas, Hi-hat, Crash Ribbon and Crotales
  • Percussion 2: Mounted Kick Drum, High and Low Congas, Hi-hat, Crash Ribbon, Crotales, and Shaker
